Ride Along Program

Members of Explorer Post 209 are afforded the opportunity to experience the life of a Police Officer from the passenger seat of a patrol car.

Explorers who have completed the required training may ride with on-duty Officers while they patrol the streets of Goldsboro. Explorers accompany Officers on calls and assist them with various tasks such as completing routine paperwork, radio communications and traffic control.

Explorers are paired with Officers who serve as Advisors and have received training on the Post’s Ride-Along regulations and Youth Protection topics.
